Connecting your domain to your new website
The final step of your launch, explained in plain English. You keep ownership of your domain, your email keeps working, and your site goes live with zero downtime.
You keep your domain
Nothing is sold or moved out of your name.
No downtime
Your current site stays up until the switch.
Email keeps working
We protect your business inbox, untouched.
About 5 minutes
Or hand it to us entirely — your choice.
What’s actually happening?
Your domain — (www.yourcompany.com)
Your street address
Your web address — like yourbusiness.com — is the address people use to find you. It stays exactly the same, and stays in your name.
The change
Pointing it to the new building
We simply update where that address points — from your old website to your new one. We redirect the address; we never move or replace it.
Choose how you’d like to do this
Pick whichever feels easier. Most clients choose the first and are done in a couple of minutes.
We do it for you
You never touch a technical setting.
Tell us who your domain is with.
Grant us temporary, limited access — we send exact, safe instructions.
We make the change and confirm your site is live and secure.
Remove our access whenever you like.
You do it, we guide you
You stay hands-on, with us verifying every step.
Log in to where you bought your domain.
Add three small records we provide.
Tell us when it’s done — we check it from our side.
Do it yourself in four steps
Prefer to handle it? Here’s exactly what to do — it usually takes about five minutes.
1
Log in to your domain provider
Sign in to the company where you bought your domain — commonly GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, or Google Domains. It’s wherever you pay your yearly renewal.
2
Find the DNS settings
Open the section called DNS, DNS Records, Manage DNS, or Advanced Settings. Wording varies by provider — if you can’t find it, send us a screenshot and we’ll point you to it.
3
Add the three records below
Add the two A records and one CNAME record exactly as shown. Copy the values carefully — no extra spaces.
4
Save, then tell us
Save your changes and let us know. We verify the connection and confirm when your new site is fully live and secure — that’s the padlock in your browser.

* These are placeholders — we’ll email you the exact values for your site, so don’t copy this table verbatim. Some providers show the Name as @, others leave it blank or show your domain — they mean the same thing. If a field asks for TTL, leave the default.
Don’t touch your email records
Leave anything that mentions MX, mail, SPF, DKIM, or your email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) exactly as it is. Those records keep your @yourbusiness.com email working — we only change website records. When unsure, don’t delete: screenshot it and send it to us first.
Remove conflicting website records
If you see other A or AAAA records on the main domain pointing somewhere else, they need to be removed so they don’t fight with the new ones. Not sure which is which? Send us a screenshot and we’ll tell you exactly what to change.
What to expect
Once the records are in place, the internet does the rest. Here’s the timeline.
Minutes later
The switch begins
The connection is detected and your new site starts appearing for visitors.
Up to 24–48 hrs
It spreads worldwide
A normal waiting period set by the internet. Some visitors briefly see the old site, others the new — this settles on its own.
Automatic
Secured with a padlock
Your security certificate is set up for you. Throughout, your email keeps working without interruption.
